The New Orleans Pelicans have successfully avoided falling down the dreaded 0-3 hole in the playoffs after scoring a convincing 119-100 win over the Golden State Warriors in Game 3 of their series at home on Friday.

Key to the Pelicans’ victory was Rajon Rondo, who probably manufactured the greatest 4-point performance in the history of the NBA, as the wily veteran point guard went just 2-for-11 from the field for four points but churned out 10 rebounds and a playoff career-high 21 assists in 37 minutes of fine orchestration of the Pellies’ offense.

Rondo did more than slice through the Warriors’ offense with his slick dimes in the game, though. The 32-year-old court general also continued to get in the head of Golden State forward Draymond Green, who might have finally met his match when it comes to being an agitator.

In the fourth quarter, as both teams were walking off the floor after the Warriors called a timeout, Rondo appeared to purposely step on Green’s foot. It was caught by cameras and by the game officials, who whistled Rondo for a technical foul.

This was not the first time that Rajon Rondo and Draymond Green have had a skirmish. Back in Game 2, the two got in each other’s faces at the end of the first half.

There’s a game happening within a game in this series, folks. You don’t want to miss it.

The Pelicans will look to tie the series at 2-2 this Sunday at home.
