Following a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Golden State Warriors, the New Orleans Pelicans will have a myriad of decisions to make in the offseason.

The signing of DeMarcus Cousins is bound to be priority No. 1 in the books, while other impending free agents like Rajon Rondo and Ian Clark could be soon to follow.

Nikola Mirotic, who was acquired prior to the trade deadline has a 2018-19 option, which was picked up as part of the mid-season transaction, yet the no-longer-bearded-one expressed his desire to remain with the team long term.

“No doubt,” said Mirotic, when asked if he wanted to make this a longtime marriage, according to Will Guillory of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “This has been like a family to me and I'm looking forward. This is the place I want to be.”

Rondo and Clark will hit free agency this very offseason, after the mercurial starting point guard was signed with a $3.3 million mid-level exception and Clark signed for the minimum last offseason.

“We'll see how it goes,” said Rondo. “I love this group of guys. It's a group of good guys. I love playing for Coach Gentry. We'll see how it goes.”

Rondo has developed a great chemistry with his teammates and elevated his game during the postseason, an asset Gentry and company could use from here on.

Clark was equally noncommittal, noting that a lot of dominoes have to fall before a decision is reached on his future.

“We'll find out what happens,” said Clark. “Obviously, the front office, that's the kind of decisions they've got to make. Right now, I'm just going to enjoy the summer.”
