Stan Van Gundy is no stranger to being outspoken, especially when it has to do with the current issues of today's world. With his team's Monday evening matchup against the Dallas Mavericks postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, the New Orleans Pelicans head coach did not even remotely come close to mincing his words in reacting to the ongoing situation.

The 61-year-old Van Gundy is obviously far more concerned with the health and safety of his player as the 2020-21 campaign continues to roll on despite surge in COVID-19 cases throughout the league.

As it stands today, the Pelicans have played nine games to begin the 2020-21 regular season–going on to win four of those contests. However, they are currently trying to shake off a three-game losing streak.

Unfortunately for the Pelicans, the always-dangerous Los Angeles Clippers are up next on Wednesday evening.

After capturing their most recent win back on January 2nd against the Toronto Raptors, the Pelicans have since dropped games at the hands of the Indiana Pacers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Charlotte Hornets, respectively.

Nonetheless, Stan Van Gundy still has a young and talented roster at his disposal, a group that may be able to make some noise toward the bottom of the Western Conference playoff picture in 2020-21. With second-year big man Zion Williamson and veteran forward Brandon Ingram leading the way down in New Orleans, the Pelicans could very well become one of the more entertaining teams in the NBA by season's end.
