New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson left the NBA bubble in Orlando on July 16 to tend to a family emergency. He returned to Disney World last Friday, went through a four-day quarantine and is now cleared to be with with the team.

When asked about the situation on Wednesday, Williamson would understandably not provide much detail:

“That was just an urgent family matter,” said Williamson, via Ben Golliver of The Washington Post. “I’m not going to dive too deep into that. I talked it over with my parents, my family, and we felt like it was best for me to come back.”

Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry said that the club will evaluate Williamson after practice on Wednesday to determine if he will play in the team's restart opener against the Utah Jazz on Thursday.

“The medical staff will evaluate and see where he is and see if it makes sense for him to go out and play,” Gentry said, according to Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com.

Williamson is one of the main reasons why New Orleans is even in playoff contention.

The Duke product, who was drafted No. 1 overall by the Pelicans last June, made his professional debut in late January. In 19 games prior to the season's suspension back in March, Williamson was averaging 23.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists over 29.7 minutes per game while shooting 58.9 percent from the floor and 64.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Zion Williamson is considered one of the best prospects the league has seen in quite some time.
