Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans will be heading into next season with a reshaped roster that'll be built for some interesting stretches. While Williamson obviously leads most of the hype in The Big Easy, the second-year power forward has taken a liking to one of his newly acquired teammates.

While talking to reporters on Sunday, Williamson elaborated briefly on how impressed he's been with Steven Adam's strength:

“Steven [Adams] is strong,” said Williamson while laughing. “I thought I was strong, but seeing it up close like
on the same team now is crazy. Steven is really strong and he's a great basketball player.”

Adams was brought over in a trade from the Oklahoma City Thunder as the Thunder looked to shed some salary in preparation of building for the future. The Pelicans were desperately needing a true center to partner with Williamson in the frontcourt, and Adams undoubtedly fits that bill. Together, they could easily become one of the better rebounding teams in the league this season.

The Pelicans elected to go in a different direction with their franchise this offseason. They hired Stan Van Gundy, who should find pleasure in coaching both Adams and Williamson given his past success with bigs. They also traded Jrue Holiday, who was regarded at most times the leader of the young Pelicans squad last season. With Holiday out of the way, Lonzo Ball will undoubtedly step up and take on the bulk of the ball-handling duties.

After only being able to play in 24 games last season due to a torn meniscus, Williamson is likely salivating at the chance to play a full season.
