Opposing teams should be extra wary each time Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans visit their arena. The Indiana Pacers staff learned that the hard way on Friday, as they had to stop play and fix the rim after the 20-year-old powerhouse nearly brought it down.

In the second half of the Pelicans-Pacers game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Williamson performed that familiar gather-step and tried to detonate for another rim-rocking slam. Fortunately for the Pacers, the 6-foot-7 supreme athlete missed the contested dunk. However, the sheer impact of the slam caused the entire backboard to shake.

The play stopped as in-game staff had to bring out the ladder to re-align the poor rim.

Zion Williamson is one of the most fearsome dunkers in the game today. It's not the first time he has done a rim-destroying slam in the big leagues, as officials also had to fix the rim after a series of ferocious dunks during the Team USA versus Team World exhibition match last year.

Aside from that play-stopping highlight, the Pelicans star has also made history against the Pacers in the first half, becoming the second-fastest player in NBA history to reach 1,000 points.

For sure, teams will make sure they have extra backboards ready every time Zion is in town.
