New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson continues to live up to the hype. One of the most highly touted prospects of all-time heading into the 2019 NBA draft, Williamson continues to cement himself as one of the true freaks of nature the game has to offer. All the while proving that he's more than just a high flyer, he was named to his first All-Star game this 2020-21 season.

Now, after his 30-point effort in a win against the Denver Nuggets, Zion became just the third player to hit the 20-point mark in 20 consecutive games before their 21st birthday. His company? LeBron James and Luka Doncic.

Williamson started the season sluggish and timid defensively. But since the beginning of his 20-point streak, Zion Williamson’s stats have been nothing short of a terror. Averaging almost 28 points a game on an asinine 65% from the field, Williamson is showing development from the flashes of potential fans saw in his 24 games last season with the Pelicans.

The next step for Williamson will be translating his talent into wins. During his streak, the Pelicans are a middling 9-11 and have yet to reach the 10th seed, the final spot necessary to compete in the play-in tournament.

In his second year, LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 42-40 record in the regular season (though the team missed the postseason). Luka, meanwhile, led the Dallas Mavericks to 43-32 and a spot in the Western Conference playoffs. Zion's Pelicans will need to do a lot of work in the latter half of the season to even approach the .500 mark, and the only playoff hope is the aforementioned play-in tourney.

Though this streak is impressive on paper, Zion will need to turn streaks like this into wins to truly solidify himself as one of the game's top-tier players.
