Zion Williamson burst onto the stage as a freshman with Duke University last year, and the 19-year-old prodigy is already turning heads at the professional level now that he has played in three preseason games with the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Pelicans have won all three of their preseason tilts, in no small part because of the efforts of Williamson, who has certainly looked the part of a tremendously talented No. 1 overall pick.

In the Pelicans' most recent game, the 6-foot-6 talented athlete challenged two-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz, and Zion lit The Stifle Tower up to the tune of 26 points on an extremely efficient 9-of-12 shooting from the field.

According to a story by William Guillory of The Athletic, Williamson is focused on finding efficient ways to score against every team, no matter who is defending the rim:

“I am learning different ways to get to the basket every game,” Williamson said in Guillory’s story. “Every team has a different defensive style. It’s just learning those players’ tendencies and how they play defense and finding my way to score.”

Williamson proved himself to be an astonishing scorer in college, where he swept all of the major awards at season’s end after setting the Sports Reference record for Player Efficiency Rating in his freshman season with a truly eye-popping 40.8.

Beyond that, Williamson averaged 22.6 points per game on a sky-high 70.2 percent true shooting percentage with Duke.

Though defenders are sure to be better in the NBA, Williamson’s otherworldly abilities should be enough to keep defenses on their heels whenever he’s in the game.
