New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson signed a record rookie sneaker deal worth $75 million over five years with Jordan Brand.

Williamson, the No. 1 overall pick from this year's draft, says he signed Jordan Brand because he felt very comfortable with them:

“I was just looking for comfortability to be honest,” Williamson told Sports Illustrated. “That was pretty much it. I just wanted to feel comfortable where I was at. When it came down to it, Jordan Brand was the most comfortable for me. I didn't feel like I was leaving anything on the table. I feel like I'm joining a family.”

Zion Williamson is the new face of the Pelicans franchise now that Anthony Davis is gone. In his lone season at Duke, Williamson put on an absolute show. The high-flyer averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 68.0 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and 64.0 percent from the free-throw line.

It's sort of fitting that Williamson is with Jordan Brand. Chicago Bulls legend and NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest dunker of all time. Watching Williamson dunk with the Pelicans next season while wearing Jordan Brand just seems right.

The Pelicans don't want to put too much pressure on Williamson, which is why point guard Jrue Holiday is still in New Orleans. All signs point toward Holiday being the focal point on offense while Williamson gets used to NBA competition.
