New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson says he's a “game-time decision” for the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest.

All-Star weekend is in Chicago this season. More than three decades have passed since Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan defeated Dominique Wilkins in the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest in The Windy City.

Williamson, who signed an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand and has nuclear athleticism, will likely see how his legs are feeling in February before committing to the Dunk Contest.

Zion Williamson finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes in the Pelicans' preseason opener against the Atlanta Hawks. The No. 1 overall pick will get to showcase his high-flying acrobatics on Wednesday at the United Center, the house that Jordan built.

Last season at Duke, Williamson averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 68.0 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and 64.0 percent from the free-throw line. While the youngster will have to develop a consistent jump shot at some point, it appears Williamson isn't going to have an issue getting to the basket with ease in the NBA and dunking everything.

The Pelicans love the humility of Williamson. He never makes it about him and is always talking about how his teammates put him in the right position to succeed.

The Pelicans have a keeper in Zion.
