New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson signed a lucrative deal with Jordan Brand last year, and is on the verge of his first signature shoe.

Zion's shoe, reportedly set to launch in January of 2021, will be called the Jordan Z Code, per Shawn Krest of Sports Illustrated.

Williamson has barely even gotten his NBA career off the ground, yet he remains as popular a star as any in the NBA.

Zion was featured on the initial announcement trailer for NBA 2K21, and has a prominent cameo in the “MyCareer” game mode. Williamson was also the talk of the NBA “bubble” during the seeding games, though not always for the right reasons.

The Pelicans struggled to build any momentum in Orlando, and Zion hardly looked as explosive as he was during his brief stretch of games prior to the suspension of play.

New Orleans really struggled to defend with Zion on the floor. He was often slow in his rotations and a liability in defending pick-and-roll, as opposing teams picked the Pels apart from the perimeter.

The defensive woes resulted in the Pelicans crashing out of the Western Conference playoff picture, as New Orleans went just 2-6 in the bubble.

Still, it seems unlikely that poor showing will do much to damper Zion's stardom.

Williamson remains one of the more captivating talents in the league due to his rare blend of athleticism and strength, and he is also one of the more dynamic personalities in the league.

Not to mention, Zion has a signature shoe in tow.
