The game-sealing play had all the markings of a winning sequence for New Orleans. Big man Steven Adams secured the second possession for the Pelicans before dishing the ball out to Eric Bledsoe on the perimeter. With the shot clock winding down, the 6-foot-1 point guard took advantage of the scrambling Grizzlies defense, drove to the hoop to bait the defenders and found the wide open Williamson soaring to the cup for the exclamation point.

Zion Williamson tallied a team-high 29 points and added four rebounds and five assists in the nine-point victory. The 20201 No.1 pick was his usual efficient self, shooting 10-of-14 from the floor and converted 9-of-11 from the foul line.

Brandon Ingram finished with a double-double for the Pelicans, going for 27 points and 12 rebounds with five 3-pointers. Meanwhile, Bledsoe contributed 21 points to go along with five assists and four triples.

On the other side, Ja Morant continued to have his struggles on the floor. The 2019-20 Rookie of the Year finished with a game-worst minus-25, scoring 16 points on 5-of-14 shooting from the field.

As for New Orleans, they have been quite on a mini-roll as of late. This win over the Grizzlies marked their third straight win and the fifth of their last seven. After starting out the season 5-10, the Pelicans are now 10-12 and are just 1.5 games behind the No. 8 seed in the packed Western Conference.

New Orleans looks to carry the momentum of this victory into Tuesday as they host the Houston Rockets.
