Before his entry into the NBA, Zion Williamson made a career out of highlight dunks. The New Orleans Pelicans star dominated the social media landscape during his high school days with his crazy mixtapes. Once he advanced to the college and NBA level, we got to see less and less of Zion the hype machine.

However, a few days ago, we caught a glimpse of the Zion Williamson show again when he pulled off a 360 dunk during warmups. The dunk had every fan excited and hyped up… except for one particular analyst. Shannon Sharpe didn't exactly care for the Pelicans star's highlight clip, saying that Williamson should focus on losing weight instead of dunking. (via r/nba on Reddit)

“I'm unimpressed by this. If I'm David Griffin I'm like shut this down. We're done we need you to trim down. Zion Williamson is over 300 pounds in that video”

To be fair, Sharpe does have a point. The Pelicans need to emphasize Williamson getting back to shape in order for him to preserve his career. He was reportedly at around 300 pounds at one point, almost as heavy as the offensive linemen Sharpe used to line up with in the NFL. The difference is that Williamson's play style in basketball makes his weight a huge injury flag, as he can easily injure his knee when he lands.

The Pelicans have already shut down Williamson for the season, but they're still making waves in the Western Conference. They knocked off the Spurs yesterday, and are set to face the Los Angeles Clippers for the final spot in the playoffs. Adding a healthy Williamson to that lineup will make them a tough cover for any team in the West.
