With the Blake Griffin trade going down, there are many who think New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis could also be in play to get traded.

That may sound crazy, especially with Davis' max contract, but that's what everyone thought about Griffin. Now we know that anything and everything is possible.

In light of that, there are several teams looking to find a way to nab Davis from New Orleans this summer, especially after DeMarcus Cousins ruptured his Achilles tendon and will miss the rest of the season heading into free agency, per Sean Deveney of Sporting News.

At least, that’s the view from other front offices. Several teams — Boston, most prominently, but also Golden State, San Antonio and Chicago — will go into this trade deadline not only with their own rosters in mind, but with some consideration for the potential of a Davis trade this summer.

Davis is easily one of the 20 best players in the NBA, and he even may be in the top 10. The only reason he isn't talked about more is because he plays in New Orleans, which is a very small media market.

But everyone who knows the NBA knows Davis is a special talent. He should be on a team and in a city that can make serious noise not only in the NBA, but also around the country.

So now that there's serious questions regarding the future of the Pelicans, teams are doing their due diligence to find out how to get their collective hands on Davis. It will be interesting to see, to say the least.
