New Orleans Pelicans star DeMarcus Cousins believes he's staying put.

In an interview with Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, Cousins addressed his impending free agency, and even said that some of his teammates make jokes about it from time to time.

But at the end of the day. Cousins thinks he is in New Orleans to stay, at least for the foreseeable future, per Spears.

Cousins will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, but he is expected to give New Orleans serious consideration in free agency. Cousins said he believes that he and Davis will play in a Christmas Day game together soon.

While the Pelicans have a lot to consider with the unrestricted free agent, Cousins says he is confident that he will still be playing for New Orleans after the Feb. 8 trade deadline.

However, there are plenty of people in NBA circles who say without a doubt that Cousins is either highly likely to be traded at or before the deadline, or that it is almost guaranteed to happen. To them, the Cousins-Anthony Davis project has not worked.

If Cousins does get moved, the Pelicans are sure to ask a hefty price for the star center. And right now, his trade value is high.

But Cousins seems like he wants to stay and be part of what the Pelicans are building.

Decisions, decisions.
