New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday has long been in the center of swirling rumors and speculations in recent seasons. His relocation might already come to fruition in the near future as the Pelicans are reportedly discussing him in trade talks with several contending teams looking to be suitors, as per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Jrue Holiday has been a mainstay on the New Orleans-based franchise ever since he was traded by the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Nerlens Noel and the Pelicans' 2014 first-round draft pick.

He eventually stuck it out and became a primary contributor to the team all throughout their rebuilding years. His solid play ultimately landed him a spot on the All-Defensive First Team in 2017-2018 and an All-Defensive Second Team selection in the 2018-2019 season.

Holiday’s current contract with New Orleans will pay him $26.2 million in 2020-2021 and includes a $27.1 million player option for 2021-2022 which would make him eligible for free agency by the end of next season.

His 0ffensive prowess bannered by his 19.1 points and 6.7 assists per game will certainly come in handy for several playoff contenders. Capable squads like the Denver Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks, and the Miami Heat have all been linked to making a run to acquire the services of the 30-year-old veteran in the offseason.

With the arrival of a generational talent like Zion Williamson and the emergence of Brandon Ingram to All-Star status, the Pelicans have a promising nucleus to build around for the years to come. Their impending roster moves will see whether or not Jrue Holiday will still be part of the team's plans for the coming years.
