The New Orleans Pelicans are still searching for a head coach after moving on from Stan Van Gundy just one season into his tenure. The NBA Draft is also approaching, and the Pelicans have some key decisions to make in an effort to have a competitive team with the nucleus of Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson.

The Pelicans have the 10th overall pick in the draft, and according to Zach Harper of The Athletic, they are exploring all of their options.

“…People around the NBA are expecting them to move this pick for some veteran help, according to league sources. How significant of a player the 10th pick in this draft would bring back is where the confusion hits for a lot of people…”

Interesting tidbit here as the Pelicans could be inclined to deal the pick. On the other hand, what kind of player could they get with the 10th pick, and will they have to add pieces in a proposed deal?

The Pelicans' roster is young, so adding another youngster might not make a ton of sense if they want to speed up the process of making the NBA Playoffs.

Harper also has the Pelicans taking Joshua Giddey from Australia, which makes sense especially with the questions surrounding Lonzo Ball as he hits restricted free agency.

As the draft approaches in the coming weeks, it turns out the Pelicans– in typical David Griffin fashion– will be active on the phones as they dangle their first-round pick for some help.
