The rookie season of Zion Williamson was highly anticipated by many, especially after he showed many flashes of potential with the New Orleans Pelicans in the preseason. He hasn't been able to suit up for any regular-season action as a result of a knee injury.

The Pelicans are going to teach Williamson how to walk and run differently in part of his rehabilitation process. The NBA on TNT crew, particularly Charles Barkley, had some fun with that part of the story.

It still seems that Williamson has some time before making his regular-season debut. He has yet to participate in any 5-on-5 or 3-on-3 drills as he has only taken part in 5-on-0 drills, according to Andrew Lopez of ESPN. The Pelicans want him to go through at least two or three practices before doing full work and the goal is to do that ‘just after' the new year.

A source within the organization told ESPN that before Williamson makes his on-court return, the team would like him to undergo at least two or three practices doing full work. A source told Sedano the team is targeting just after the new year for those practices.

While it remains to be seen when exactly Williamson will make be able to play during game action, he should provide a considerable boost to the 9-23 Pelicans when it happens.
