Like a fine wine, JJ Redick of the New Orleans Pelicans seems to improve with age in the NBA, as he has produced career-highs in points in each of the past two seasons – both of which as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.

While his numbers are down slightly from the heady highs of his Philly tenure, the Pelicans guard did come out firing against the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night, drilling his first five shots in the first quarter:

While Redick was brought on to be a veteran presence and deadeye three-point marksman for the Pelicans, the team’s main engine, Zion Williamson, tore his meniscus in the offseason, which threw a wrench into the team’s plans.

Still, Redick’s three-point numbers are up from his Philly days, as his three-point attempt rate is at a career-high 70.5 percent, and he is shooting 46.2 percent on over 7 attempts per game per Basketball Reference.
