Lonzo Ball’s jump shot has always been a cause for concern, but no one can deny his extraordinary playmaking and phenomenal court vision. The 21-year-old point guard is off to an auspicious start with his New Orleans Pelicans team, dropping a unique, highlight-worthy dime just minutes in their match against the defending champions Toronto Raptors.

At the 1:51 mark of the second frame, Ball casually drew in multiple Raptors defenders with what appeared to be a variation of the popular Shammgod crossover move.

He found his fellow backcourt mate Jru Holiday cutting on the right lane and dished out a perfectly timed pass for a nifty bucket, giving the Pelicans a 54-52 lead.

With the pressures of playing in the bright lights of Los Angeles finally off his shoulders, the second overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft is expected to be a huge part of the New Orleans’ young core this season.

Ball averaged 9.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.5 steals in 47 games played last year for the Lakers.
