The fine designers at 2K and Visual Concepts have been revealing the ratings for the players who will be included in NBA 2K20. Pelicans No. 1 overall draft pick Zion Williamson was given an 81 overall, and he's more than happy with that score.

Williamson, who recently signed a shoe deal with Jordan Brand, sat down with Macklin Stern of Complex to discuss his rating on the popular video game:

Complex: Your 2K rating also came in; you’re an 81. What did you think about that? Too high, too low, about right?

Zion: I was shocked it was even in the 80s. I thought they kinda had a thing with rookies where they would give them like a 79 and below. Seventy-nine at the highest. So I’ll be honest, when I saw 81, I was like, I can work with that.

Complex: You have some bragging rights over RJ (Barrett). He’s a 78. LeBron (James) was also a 78 as a rookie. You’ve got both of them beat.

Zion: Yeah, that's a lot of expectations, but I’m ready. I’m ready.

An 81 overall rating is indeed an impressive score for a rookie. As noted in Zion's interview with Complex, several other prominent NBA players were given lower ratings when entering the league, including LeBron James (78). In 2K20, however, James is tied with Kawhi Leonard for the highest rating (97).

Williamson should be a fine addition for the Pelicans. The South Carolina native made 33 appearances in his lone season at Duke (all starts), racking up averages of 22.6 points on 68.0 percent shooting from the field (33.8 percent from beyond the arc), 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.8 blocks in 30.0 minutes per outing.
