The coach for the TSM FTX League of Legends team Peter Zhang has been terminated over allegations of conflict of interest and unethical practices.

This was revealed in a statement by TSM FTX, posted earlier today. The statement read:

We were recently made aware of very serious allegations of conflict of interest and unethical practices against League of Legends coach Peter Zhang. After an initial investigation, we have terminated him effective immediately. We are working with external legal counsel to complete a full investigation.

Their League of Legends team has not had a good split, currently placed last out of the 10 teams in the LCS. Prior the official announcement, some players of the roster took to Twitter for their… cryptic messages.

Peter Zhang has not yet made any public statements, but screenshots of some Discord messages that seem to be sent by him surfaced. In it, his messages read:

“I will write a post later about my situation but thanks for the journey with everyone”

“and please keep supporting TSM”

“I did some mistake and i guess it's bigger [sic] enough i got immediate [sic] released”

“I won't do any post and comment about this news. This has nothing to be done with in-game, match-fixing. It's a very tough lesson that I had to learn. I would like to thank TSM for having me for the past 3 years and I really appreciated them. My last call is with Walter and he's nothing but helpful and kind to me. I appreciated everyone who worked with me in this org, and hope everyone can move forward with it and keep supporting TSM. My personal plan is back to china and take care of my family, while waiting on TSM investigation”

LCS Commissioner Jackie Felling also commented on the issue, saying “Nothing to do with matchfixing. This is an internal team matter. Not making a statement from Riot at all but I don't want people to think this had anything remotely to do with matchfixing or betting which it does not.”

This is not the first time a coach was fired from an LCS team this split either, since Cloud9's former coach Nick “LS” DeCesare occurred in the early weeks of this split.
