Jordan Spieth was hilariously imploring for some fan assistance during the second round of the PGA Championship on Friday at Kiawah Island.

Spieth, ever one of the more talkative players on tour, begged the patrons not to move out of the way of his wayward drive as he sought a fortuitous bounce toward the fairway. The hot mic caught him humorously saying “Let it hit your ankles.”

The three-time major champion has never won the PGA Championship, but he clearly is willing to sacrifice a few fan bruises to get the job done.

That's a joke, of course. Still, Spieth's tendency to talk to his golf ball and try to bend it to his will has always made him one of the more entertaining players to watch. Of course, his quality of play is pretty strong as well.

Spieth came into the PGA Championship playing his best golf in years. He ended nearly a four-year drought earlier this year at the Valero Texas Open and finished third at The Masters in April. It seemed Spieth would be as good a bet as any to lift the Wanamaker Trophy for the first time.

However, the Texan battled to a 1-over 73 on Thursday and was struggling a bit on Friday. Spieth finds himself working just to make the cut line and play the weekend at the Ocean Course.

Can Spieth conjure up some late magic and stick around for a chance to win his first PGA Championship? Maybe a lucky fan kick here or there can help him down the stretch.
