• CLUTCH Summary: The Philadelphia Eagles should finally enter an NFL regular season healthy, loaded with talent, and realistic expectations to go dancing deep in the playoffs.
  • Carson Wentz needs to take that next step as a quarterback, joining the upper-tier of talent.
  • The Eagles will be looking for balance this season, not only armed with a steadier running game, but with a special teams and defensive unit looking to improve upon their 2018 voyage.

The Philadelphia Eagles will enter the 2019-20 NFL season ready to take back what they lost last year. It wasn't respect they let go off, but a title defense. Armed with their top QB in Carson Wentz, the receiver they wished they never lost (DeSean Jackson), and a stable RB in Jordan Howard, the Eagles' offense will be one of the best in the NFL next season.

Can Doug Pederson and the rest of the team rely on the health of Wentz or will they be let down for a third straight season? With teams in the NFC East getting stronger (except New York Giants), the Eagles will have their hands full trying to distance themselves from the rest of the pack.

Here are 3 Bold Predictions for the Philadelphia Eagles 2019-2 Season

The Best Offense In The NFL

How many teams will be able to keep up with the Eagles' offense this coming season? No matter how tough a defense is, they each have a weakness. With Carson Wentz back in the fold, the offense may become a bit more conservative but he will also be playing with a chip on his shoulder. This doesn't bode well for the rest of the league.

Think back before both his season-ending injuries the last two years. Before he went down, Wentz was mentioned in MVP discussions both years. Now he has better weapons. DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, and Nelson Aghlor will be a great trio. Then you throw in arguably the best TE in Zach Ertz and Wentz could hit Drew Brees-type numbers.  And the ground game is much improved with the addition of Jordan Howard. If you stop them on the ground, they will hurt you through the air and vice versa.

Finish Regular Season 13-3

The schedule for the Philadelphia Eagles screams success. Playing in the NFC East should have them 4-2 with splits coming against the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. There's no reason to believe they will not sweep the Washington Redskins. The loss against the Giants will come the last week of the season as the Eagles will rest their starters.

The other tough matchups will be the Chicago Bears, Patriots, and Minnesota Vikings. The Eagles are a veteran bunch and will find a way to pull that one out. Their third loss will be either against a revengeful Bears team looking for redemption or the Patriots looking to prove a point. Other than those teams mentioned, no one on their schedule has a chance if the Eagles are at full health.

Will Win Super Bowl

The playoffs are a lock unless another freak injury happens to Wentz. Other than the Eagles, what team in the NFC can say they have that true playoff experience to get the job done when the pressure is on? This bunch understands what it takes after winning it all just two years ago and a Jeffery blunder from making the NFC Championship Game last year. They have the talent to beat anyone.

But in the AFC, who is the real threat? Will it be the Kansas City Chiefs? They have talent but have taken a few lumps along the way and Andy Reid has been known to choke in tough moments. Even without Rob Gronkowski, the New England Patriots will be a threat. But how long can Tom Brady continue to play as if he doesn't age? Other teams in the AFC may have experience sprinkled around the roster, whereas the Eagles are a seasoned team. If the offense is clicking and the defense can make key stops, no one in the NFL will be able to match them stride for stride.
