The Philadelphia Eagles found a way to make the playoffs, but it still wasn't a very successful 2019 season. There were a lot of holes that were exposed with their biggest being depth, The Eagles suffered a lot of injuries and there was a big drop off between starters and replacements.

A lot of the depth will come through the draft, but they also need to be some big-time free agent signings. So who should the team target? Let's break it down.

Robby Anderson – Wide Receiver

The Eagles need to target a young proven wide receiver and Robby Anderson fits the mold of both of those. The Alshon Jeffery experiment in Philadelphia has been a disaster and it's time for the team to move on from him.

During the last few weeks of the season, the Eagles' biggest playmaker out wide was Greg Ward Jr. who just a few years ago was the starting quarterback with the Houston Cougars. He could be a good player going forward, but he's not someone Philadelphia needs to count on for big-time production.

Anderson has all the makings of a star receiver on the right team. During the 2019 season, he caught 52 passes for 779 yards and five touchdowns.

Phillip Rivers – Quarterback

Phillip Rivers probably wouldn't be okay coming in to be a backup quarterback, but he is a guy the Eagles should go after hard. Carson Wentz has the worst injury luck and still hasn't completed a playoff game. How going forward can the team trust that he is going to make it through a full playoff run?

The Eagles need to bring in someone who can be a solid starter for if Wentz goes down with an injury. Rivers has plenty of playoff experience and could be the perfect guy for that job. If the team can't get Rivers, the team needs to find someone that can win games to be their backup.

Jadeveon Clowney – Defensive End

Jadeveon Clowney isn't a very popular guy with Eagles fans after he ended Wentz's season, but that shouldn't scare the Eagles from going after him.

He dealt with a core muscle injury most of the 2019 season which caused his numbers to go down, but he is still one of the best defensive ends in the league.

The Eagles had problems getting pressure on the quarterback during the 2019 season and Clowney can change that. He is going to cost the Eagles some money, but that shouldn't scare them off.
