Detroit Pistons big man Christian Wood has fully healed from the coronavirus.

Wood's agent, Adam Pensack, says the Pistons high-flyer is “feeling great and fully recovered,” per Dana Gauruder of The Detroit Free Press:

A source familiar with the situation said Christian Wood has to pass a few medical tests and is expected to be cleared Thursday.

The source spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to officially speak about Wood or his medical condition.

The source said 17 members of the traveling party, including five players, were tested, and no one else was known to be positive for COVID-19.

Wood was the only player on the Pistons to test positive for COVID-19. Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Kevin Durant and Marcus Smart are the other players in the NBA along with Wood who contracted the virus.

It's great to hear that Wood is feeling good. He was playing really well for the Pistons prior to play being suspended.

In 62 games for Detroit, Wood had been averaging 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.0 assists. He shot 56.7 percent from the field, 38.6 percent from beyond the arc and 74.4 percent from the free throw line.

Wood becomes an unrestricted free agent whenever the 2019-20 season ends. The Pistons will likely try and re-sign him after trading Andre Drummond to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the trade deadline.

NBA owners are hopeful of resuming the season in the summer. The Pistons were headed for the lottery after making the postseason in 2018-19 for the first time since 2016.
