The Detroit Pistons are adding Derrick Rose to the squad, and two NBA scouts like the move for Detroit.

Rose is signing a two-year, $15 million deal with the Pistons. The former MVP will likely back up Reggie Jackson in Detroit, although the Pistons could still trade Jackson since he's on an expiring contract.

Two scouts — one Eastern Conference, one Western Conference — praised the move.

“D. Rose is great, when healthy,” the Western Conference scout wrote in a text. “Hurt a lot, though. Seemed to gain some confidence back last season.

“Loved him off the bench as instant buckets.”

This past season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Rose averaged 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. The Chicago native shot 48.2 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from beyond the arc and 85.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Rose scored 20-plus points 24 times and 30-plus points four times, including that career-high 50-point game on Halloween against the Utah Jazz.

Like one of the scout says, Rose is still very prone to injuries. He only played in 51 games in 2018-19. When he's on the court, though, DRose is a guy who can score 20 points in a hurry.

Kyrie Irving and Derrick Rose were the only point guards this past season to average at least 18.0 points per game, shoot at least 48.0 percent overall, 37.0 percent from the 3-point line and have a player efficiency rating of at least 19.0.
