After playing in the Osgood Shootout at New Britain High School in Connecticut this past weekend, Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond hinted he's going to decline his 2020-21 player option with the club.

Drummond will make $27.1 million next season and has a player option worth $28.8 million for the 2020-21 campaign.

The Pistons All-Star said he's “excited” about becoming a free agent next summer:

Last season, Andre Drummond was a monster for the Pistons. The two-time All-Star averaged 17.3 points and 15.6 rebounds while shooting 53.3 percent from the field.

Drummond recorded 69 double-doubles and helped the Pistons make the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Detroit, though, got swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 2019 postseason, as star power forward Blake Griffin dealt with a knee injury and only played in Games 3 and 4. Griffin had offseason knee surgery, but is already back to 100 percent.

The Pistons can offer Drummond the most money and a fifth year on his deal in free agency next summer. The 26-year-old has career averages of 14.1 points and 13.7 rebounds with Detroit in 542 games.

All signs point toward Drummond entering free agency since he can make more money on the open market, but that doesn't mean the big man is looking to leave the Pistons.
