Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond says it's “surreal” having point guard Derrick Rose as a teammate.

Drummond used to watch Rose as a kid, so the Pistons star is enjoying playing with the former MVP this season:

“D-Rose is an incredible guy to play with,” Drummond told Eric Woodyard of ESPN. “And for me it's more surreal just having him as a teammate, just watching him as a kid and see everything he's done in the league and for him to be my teammate later in his career, it's wild.”

Rose has appeared in 22 games this season for the Pistons. The Chicago native is averaging 16.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 6.1 assists while shooting 48.4 percent from the field, 33.9 percent from beyond the arc and 87.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Drummond is putting up 17.7 points and 16.6 rebounds in 25 games this season and shooting 54.6 percent from the floor. The Pistons are 11-16 and in the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Detroit made it to the playoffs last season for the first time since 2016. That was mostly because Blake Griffin played like a superstar and Drummond was a great Robin. Griffin, though, has been a shell of himself this season after undergoing left knee surgery after the playoffs ended.

As a result, the Pistons have yet to win three games in a row this season.
