Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond will miss his second straight game on Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Drummond didn’t play on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings after suffering a lip laceration on Monday versus the Washington Wizards:

The Pistons were able to defeat the Kings without Drummond. They are now 17-28 on the season.

Drummond has appeared in 42 games this season. He’s averaging 17.3 points, 15.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 53.1 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from the free-throw line. The All-Star big man has 36 double-doubles.

Most pundits believe Detroit just needs to tear the roster down and embark on a rebuild. Like point guard Reggie Jackson, Drummond can enter unrestricted free agency next summer if he declines his 2020-21 player option with the Pistons. He is expected to be traded before the February trade deadline, although the Pistons are having a hard time getting a first round pick in return for Drummond.

Blake Griffin was a shell of himself after undergoing left knee surgery this past summer before undergoing another surgery this season, which will keep him out indefinitely. The Pistons have yet to win three games in a row this season.

Former MVP Derrick Rose has been the Pistons’ best player this season. He’s garnering trade interest from the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers.
