Detroit Pistons All-Star power forward Blake Griffin has no regrets about playing on a torn meniscus during the 2019 playoffs.

The Pistons made the playoffs last season for the first time since 2016 due to Griffin’s stellar play during the regular season. However, Detroit got swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. Griffin only played in Games 3 and 4 due to his knee injury. He underwent surgery after the postseason ended and is still dealing with the aftereffects.

“I would do it over again, especially in the playoffs, for sure,” Griffin told Shams Charania of The Athletic. “If I can play, I can play. It didn’t do any more damage, (the meniscus) got taken care of, and I feel great now.”

Griffin appeared in 75 games last season for the Pistons. He averaged 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 75.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pistons are 3-4 on the young season. Former MVP Derrick Rose has stepped up in Griffin’s absence, but it’s clear Detroit needs Griffin back if it wants to reach the playoffs again.

Detroit takes on the Washington Wizards on Monday. The Pistons have already ruled Griffin out for the game.
