When considering the best step-back shooters in today's NBA, names like James Harden or Steph Curry might cross your mind. However, one player who you might not think of in this light is Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin, who ranks third in step-back threes this season.

According to NBA on ESPN, Griffin has sank 41 step-back threes this season. The only two players with more are Harden, who has a whopping 216 such buckets, and Luka Doncic, who has 73 to his credit.

The Pistons have played well with Griffin on-board. In fact, Detroit is currently holding the No. 6 spot in the Eastern Conference standings with a 38-37 overall record. And though the race for seeding is tight at the bottom of the conference, the Pistons seem to be poised for a playoff birth.

Griffin played a big role in Detroit's 115-98 victory over the Magic on Thursday night. In 33 minutes of action, the former No. 1 overall pick racked up 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the field (2-of-5 from beyond the arc), 10 rebounds, five assists and one steal. With the win, the Pistons extended their home winning streak to 10 games — their longest since a 16-game streak in 2005-06.

“Griffin was terrific, [Andre] Drummond controlled the glass and their perimeter players scored,” Orlando head coach Steve Clifford told ESPN during his post-game media availability. “Dwane [Casey] had them more ready than I did.”

Griffin and the Pistons will be back in action on Saturday night, when they'll serve as hosts to the Portland Trail Blazers. Tip-off inside Little Caesars Arena is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
