Detroit Pistons star Blake Griffin has always been one of the funniest players in the NBA and that trend continued on Thursday, this time on social media.

When a fan tagged Griffin on his Twitter post about Creighton beating Oklahoma back in 2014, the Pistons power forward was quick to remind the fan that he didn't play in the said game because he was starring for the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA.

It appears the fan was talking about Blake Griffin and Doug McDermott going back and forth on Twitter, though, not in the game.

Overall, this is a pretty funny situation, although it could come back to bite Blake Griffin since he read the tweet wrong.

Pistons fans will get to see Griffin back in action on Dec. 22 when the 2020-21 season starts. The former high-flyer struggled in 2019-20 in the 18 games he played in before shutting the season down and undergoing knee surgery. Griffin averaged 15.5 points and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 35.2 percent from the field and 24.3 percent from beyond the arc.

The hope in Detroit is that Griffin's latest knee surgery fixed whatever was bothering him.

The only way the Pistons are going to shock the world and make the playoffs next season is if Griffin and former MVP Derrick Rose stay healthy and play like All-Stars. If Detroit is terrible again, don't be surprised if Griffin and Rose are traded at the trade deadline by new general manager Troy Weaver, who has already made a bevy of moves since taking the job in Detroit.
