Blake Griffin has joined the conversation.

The Detroit Pistons All-Star echoed the sentiments of Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma, who both pitched Atlanta Hawks rookie Trae Young for Rookie of the Year.

Mitchell rolled the ball, tweeting out a simple “ROY” to let everyone know that Young is his pick as the top rookie this season. Kuzma followed by seconding the motion initiated by Mitchell. And now, Griffin has joined the bandwagon, too.

It's easy to see why Young has Griffin's vote. Aside from the fact that both of them attended Oklahoma in college, Young has also known Griffin ever since he was playing for the Sooners back in the late 2000's.

Ice Trae has been getting a lot of praises from his peers with the way he's been playing over the past few months. Nonetheless, he certainly warrants all this attention, especially after he nailed a game-winner to cap off his 32-point night against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.

With the game tied at 127-all and with 3.5 ticks remaining on the game clock, the no. 5 overall pick in last year's draft hit a tough floater in the lane with virtually no time left to secure the upset victory. He even did it while being guarded by Jimmy Butler, who is arguably Philly's best defender.

Young shot 11-of-20 from the field and added six rebounds, 11 assists, and four triples to round out his impressive outing.

In the first few months of the season, it almost seemed like the Rookie of the Year race was a foregone conclusion. Slovenian Sensation Luka Doncic took the league by storm with his clutch shots and consistently outstanding play for the Dallas Mavericks.

But over the last couple of months, Young has really started to turn it on for the Hawks. With a number of eye-popping performances from February to March, highlighted by a 49-point career night, Young has certainly inserted himself in a two-way race for top rookie honors with Doncic. Nevertheless, Blake Griffin is a fan.
