Detroit Pistons star Blake Griffin and guard Reggie Jackson have both been ruled out for their team's game against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night, per the NBA injury report.

Griffin has yet to play this season due to knee soreness.

The veteran underwent knee surgery during the offseason to correct an issue that plagued him toward the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

Griffin actually played in 75 games last year, marking the first time he appeared in 70 contests in a single season since 2013-14. However, his knee began to act up in April, and he ended up missing the first two games of the Pistons' first-round playoff matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The 30-year-old averaged a career-high 24.5 points per game last season to go along with 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists over 35 minutes per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the floor, 36.2 percent from three-point range and 75.3 percent from the free-throw line, en route to his sixth All-Star appearance and first since 2014-15.

Griffin initially arrived in Detroit midway through the 2017-18 campaign after coming over in a trade with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Meanwhile, Jackson has been sidelined for each of the last four games due to back tightness.

In the two contests, he has played this season, Jackson has registered five points, four assists, and 2.5 rebounds over 18 minutes per game while shooting 36.4 percent from the field.

The Pistons have gotten off to a 2-4 start, most recently falling to the Chicago Bulls by a score of 112-106 on Friday evening.

Detroit is looking to make the playoffs in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2009.
