Detroit Pistons All-Star power forward Blake Griffin has turned himself into one of the best 3-point shooters at the big-man position in the NBA. Griffin is shooting 36.5 percent from beyond the arc this season and has already made a career-high 134 3s.

No player in NBA history has won the Slam Dunk Contest and the 3-Point Contest. Griffin has already won the Slam Dunk Contest, and the high-flyer tells FS1's Kristine Leahy it's a goal of his to participate in the 3-Point Contest one day:

“I wanna get my 3-point percentage up a little bit before going there,” Griffin said. “But that's kind of like a goal of mine maybe.”

Blake Griffin says he hired a shooting coach a few years ago to help him change his shot, and the results have been very good.

The former No. 1 overall pick is now a steady shooter from the perimeter, and his outside stroke makes it more difficult for teams to guard him because he can do damage from the 3-point line and the paint.

Griffin is averaging 26.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game this season for the Pistons. The six-time All-Star is shooting 47.9 percent from the field and has 18 double-doubles on the season.

Maybe next season Griffin will be asked to participate in the 3-Point Contest in Chicago.
