The Detroit Pistons are expecting big things from superstar Blake Griffin this year. Entering his first full season as a Piston, Griffin himself admitted that he has found himself in unfamiliar territory.

This is great news for Pistons supporters though, as according to the 29-year-old, this is the first time he is entering a season injury-free.

It was new Pistons head coach Dwane Casey who made this piece of information public, via Ansar Khan of M Live.

“Blake Griffin is a very impressive player,” claimed the reigning Coach of the Year winner. “He can put the ball on the floor. We don't have to talk about the athleticism, how he scores. I think he's going to have a real big year. He told me this is the first summer he wasn't nursing any injury.”

The Pistons are entering a new era in the history of their franchise, with Griffin anchored at the center of it all. After a promising half season with the team last term, the Pistons will be relying heavily on Griffin to lift them out of mediocrity this year.

For his part, Griffin is looking to prove that he can still be a team's cornerstone star after a rather unrewarding seven and a half seasons as the Los Angeles Clippers' main man. Injuries have been a major hindrance in the former Rookie of the Year's career, but hopefully, Griffin can remain healthy from here on out.
