During his recent IG live interview with GQ, Detroit Pistons power forward Blake Griffin was asked to talk about former MVP Derrick Rose.

Griffin, who has known Rose since they were in high school, claimed that the explosive point guard is one of his “favorite teammates for sure.”

“He's great, man. He's an unbelievable teammate. Had a great season. I talked to him like a week ago. He's doing good, man. He just does his thing. Works hard, known him for a long time and one of my favorite teammates for sure,” Griffin said of the Pistons guard.

The Pistons were awful in 2019-20, as the team only racked up 20 wins before the season was suspended in March due to COVID-19.

However, Rose was the one bright spot for the club. He averaged 18.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 50 games and shot 49.0 percent from the field, 30.6 percent from beyond the arc and 87.1 percent from the free-throw line.

For the Pistons to get back to the playoffs in 2020-21, Derrick Rose and Blake Griffin will have to stay healthy and play like All-Stars. Griffin only appeared in 18 games this season due to a knee injury that required season-ending surgery.

The good news is that the former Los Angeles Clippers superstar is 100 percent now.

The Pistons are hoping Griffin can get back to the level he was at in 2018-19 when he put up 24.5 points, 7.5 boards and 5.4 dimes in 75 games and guided Detroit to the playoffs. If Rose and Griffin can both stay on the court and play at a high level next season, it's possible the team's rebuild could be accelerated.
