Detriot Pistons star Blake Griffin has accomplished a lot through basketball in his career. He is a five-time All-Star, Rookie of the Year and a slam dunk contest champion. One thing that has escaped him since coming into the league is a chance to win a gold medal with the United States men national team.

Griffin has dealt with injuries throughout his career, and the injuries also derailed his chances of representing the United States in the last two Olympics. The next Olympics is 2020 in Tokyo and it might be Griffin's last chance to win the Gold. Griffin attended the Team USA minicamp this week in Las Vegas and talked about how important representing USA is for him.

“It's always a privilege to be here,” Griffin said via NBA.com. “I say it all the time, USA Basketball is just a different thing, a different atmosphere and a different type of respect. It’s important, too. And I think guys who have played all the way through will tell you that. I’ve been close a couple of times and barring injury, I probably would have been there. And it’s still something I look forward to accomplishing.”

“USA Basketball is different that any other basketball you can play. You ask anybody in here and they’ll tell you the same thing. It’s just different … I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Griffin has done enough in his career that he will probably make the Olympics team as long as he can stay healthy enough to play, and with Griffin's injury concerns that is a big if.
