Fake news has been a term frequently thrown around these days, and Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin is among the latest to hurl the phrase on social media when he recently posted a GIF of Stephen Colbert quoting the words on Twitter.

Griffin’s post can be easily interpreted as his reaction to a report by Radar Online that a court has ordered the big man to pony up $258,000 per month in child support. The said amount is for the financial compensation of Griffin’s two kids with his ex-girlfriend, Brynn Cameron

Radar Online also said that they obtained court documents which purportedly have claims from Cameron that Griffin kicked her and their two kids out of his home in Pacific Palisades.

This report has put Griffin in the headlines in these dog days of summer when not much about the NBA is being talked about. But if what Radar Online reported is false, then where does that leave Griffin? If there is no court order, Griffin is not mandated by the court to shell out money immediately, but that also should not change his responsibility to provide for his kids.

Blake Griffin is a wealthy man. He just signed a contract last year worth over $170 million, which means he can easily shoulder the expenses of his children.
