Cade Cunningham can already see how Jaden Ivey will impact the Detroit Pistons once he suits up alongside him in the 2022-23 season.

Speaking to reporters as the Las Vegas Summer League officially starts, Cunningham couldn't help but rave about Ivey's potential and how deadly the guard can be. The 2021 no. 1 overall pick highlighted Ivey's speed as something that could definitely bring the Pistons' play to another level.

“He’s fast. I’m not fast. Having someone like that spreads the floor out a lot,” Cunningham said, per Omari Sankofa III of the Detroit Free Press.

The Pistons selected Jaden Ivey with the no. 5 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft despite expectations he would go in the top four. It was definitely a massive win for Detroit, as they finally found the perfect backcourt partner for Cade Cunningham.

Clearly, Cunningham sees the potential of his pairing with Ivey as well.

Of course fans have to wait and see how the two will actually play together and whether they can truly thrive alongside each other. Besides, everyone knows that looking good on paper doesn't actually guarantee playing great on the court. As a teaser for Ivey's play, though, the youngster put up 20 points, six rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes of action in their 81-78 Summer League win over the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Pistons are on a rebuild, and they are certainly developing into an exciting team with all the pieces they have. Beyond Cunningham and Ivey, Detroit also has the likes of Saddiq Bey, Marvin Bagley III, Isaiah Stewart and more.
