It's been a relatively quiet offseason for the Detroit Pistons, who haven't done much in the summer outside of shuffling draft picks. However, that could change in a heartbeat following news that the Oklahoma City Thunder are shopping star point guard Russell Westbrook after the Paul George trade that shook up the NBA last Friday.

On Fox Sports 1's “Undisputed,” guest Chris Broussard asserted Detroit's interest in Westbrook and added how improved the Pistons could be with the former league MVP on the roster alongside All-Star power forward Blake Griffin.

“When you trade for [Westbrook], you're trading for relevancy and to become significant,” Broussard told Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe, and Jenny Taft on the sports talk show.

Broussard was recently antagonized by NBA fans for missing his prediction that Leonard would land with the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, this time around, he believes Detroit will be Russell Westbrook's landing spot as the Thunder rebuild.

The Pistons were eliminated in the first round of the 2019 NBA Playoffs by the eventual Eastern Conference Finals runner-ups Milwaukee Bucks in four games. Reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo made quick work with an overmatched Detroit team.

Now, the Motor City franchise is looking to improve and adding Westbrook, a perennial triple-double threat, could be the answer to how the Pistons can elevate the team. After all, Griffin, center Andre Drummond and a shoddy backcourt have not been the solution for Detroit that's starving for a postseason run.
