Detroit Pistons big man Christian Wood is going all-in on himself. Recently, the 24-year-old just declared how he intends to do everything in his power to reach his full potential.

Wood took to Twitter to make his bold claim:

Christian Wood was one of the biggest revelations of the season for the Pistons, averaging 13.1 points (on 56.7 percent shooting), 6.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per contest. The 6-foot-10 center was the biggest beneficiary of Detroit's trade-deadline moves, with former star big man Andre Drummond heading to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Drummond's departure opened up a ton of opportunity for Wood, and he was able to build on what was already an impressive campaign even before Drummond's exit.

Since taking over the starting spot for the Pistons, Wood's averages shot up to 22.8 points, 9.9 boards, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 blocks, while also connecting on 1.7 triples per contest on a very impressive 40.0-percent clip.

This is Wood's first season with the Pistons after being scooped up by the team from the waiver wire last summer. In what has been his highest-paying year since entering the league in 2015, the former UNLV standout earned just $1.6 million this term. Wood will become a free agent this offseason and is hoping for a much-improved payday.

It is not clear if Detroit intends to re-sign him long term, and if they will be willing to pay Wood the money he believes he deserves. Whatever the case may be, he will have no shortage of suitors during the offseason. He has a ton of potential, and with his recent declaration, it also seems that he is more than willing to put the work in to be part of the upper echelon of big men in the NBA.
