Detroit Pistons star point guard Derrick Rose is Jamal Crawford's favorite player in the NBA.

Crawford, who played with Rose on the Minnesota Timberwolves, wasn't surprised to see the former MVP playing well with the Pistons this season.

Crawford talked about Rose and said the youngest MVP in NBA history wasn't getting the respect he deserved a few years ago.

Via an interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson:

“Oh, I love watching him,” Jamal Crawford said about Derrick Rose. “He's someone who was written off, someone who was — I think people didn't give him the proper respect on his name. From different places, different situations.

“He's a Hall of Famer. He's unbelievable. He's fun to watch. He's such a genuine person. I'll always root for him. I'm like his biggest fan to be honest with you. I love watching him.

“Think about that, he knew he was this D-Rose all along, whether he was in Cleveland, whether he was in Minnesota, whatever. Getting waived from Utah…But he knew he was this same guy all along.”

Rose was the best player for the Pistons this season prior to play getting suspended. The three-time All-Star was averaging 18.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 50 games. He was also shooting 49.0 percent from the floor, 30.6 percent from beyond the arc and 87.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Rose has career NBA averages of 18.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 596 games played. He was out of the NBA for a little bit during the 2017-18 season after the Cleveland Cavaliers traded him to the Jazz and Utah waived him.

However, Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau signed Rose in March of 2018 — and the rest is history. Rose is once again one of the best point guards in the NBA.
