Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose has missed the last four games due to a hamstring strain.

Speaking to Ben Stinar of The Big Lead on Friday, Rose said he feels like he can play right now, but the Pistons medical staff thinks he needs “a little bit more time.”

“I feel good,” Rose said. “I feel like I could play, but the organization, trainers, feel like I'll need a little bit more time.”

The Pistons announced on Thursday that Rose continues a treatment and rehabilitation regimen. His progress for a return to action will be monitored on a day-to-day basis.

In six games this season, Rose is averaging 20.8 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists. The former MVP is shooting 56.2 percent from the field and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pistons are anxious to get Rose and All-Star power forward Blake Griffin back. We could see Rose and Griffin back on the court next week assuming they don’t suffer any setbacks in their rehabs.

Detroit made the playoffs last season for the first time since 2016. Once Griffin and Rose come back and find their rhythm on the court, the Pistons should be able to compete for another playoff berth in the East.

As of Saturday, Detroit is 4-6 on the season.
