Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose will do a book signing in Los Angeles this Saturday for his new autobiography called “I'll Show You.”

Chicago Bulls legendary writer Sam Smith helped Rose write the book:

Derrick Rose's story is definitely worth telling. He made it out of one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Chicago thanks to his basketball talent and became the No. 1 overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by his hometown Bulls.

Rose won the 2009 Rookie of the Year award and became the youngest MVP in NBA history during the 2010-11 season. He led the Bulls to the best record in the NBA that year and was on track to becoming one of the greatest players in NBA history.

We all know what happened next, though. Rose tragically tore his ACL in the 2012 playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Chicago native has undergone four knee surgeries, two on each knee, since winning the MVP award in 2011.

The Bulls traded Rose to the New York Knicks in the summer of 2016. After playing one season in New York, Rose joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in the offseason of 2017, hoping to win a title with LeBron James.

Unfortunately, Derrick Rose suffered a serious ankle injury with the Cavs and left the team for a little bit. Cleveland traded Rose to the Utah Jazz at the 2018 February trade deadline. The Jazz waived Rose, who suddenly saw his NBA career possibly being over.

Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau gave Rose another shot in the NBA and signed the former MVP in March of 2018. Rose took that opportunity and ran with it, putting up 14.2 points for the Timberwolves in the 2018 playoffs. He also averaged 18.0 points per game last season while shooting 48.2 percent from the field.

Rose scored 50 points on Halloween against the Jazz, a performance which captivated the NBA world considering what he's been through.

Rose signed a two-year deal with the Pistons this summer. You can order a copy of his book here.
