Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose had scored at least 20 points in each of his last 14 games entering Sunday's game against the Denver Nuggets. But that career-high streak came to an end after Rose was forced to leave Sunday's game due to a groin injury:

Rose might not have been able to reach the 20-point mark anyway. The groin was clearly hampering him even in the first half, as he scored only two points and attempted just three field goals in 13 minutes for the Pistons.

The 31-year-old's recent scoring streak capped off a tremendous January in which Rose averaged 22.8 points, 6.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds while shooting above 51 percent from the floor and forcing his way into the starting lineup.

Rose has been one of Detroit's best players when he is on the floor, averaging 25.5 points, 8.0 assists and 3.4 rebounds per 36 minutes, a line very much on par with his 2010-11 NBA MP season.

There were still some doubts about Rose's continuity following a breakout campaign with the Minnesota Timberwolves. After all, he ended up signing with the Pistons for just two years and $15 million. However, Rose's play has made him one of the hottest trade targets on the market.

Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports previously reported the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers were among the contenders interested in acquiring Rose's services. According to Vincent Ellis of the Detroit Free Press, however, the Pistons are unlikely to move Rose before the Feb. 6 deadline.

Rose's renaissance has been among the most pleasant stories of the 2019-20 NBA season thus far, regardless of where he finishes out the season.
