The Detroit Pistons have reportedly waived LiAngelo Ball after signing him to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal earlier this December.
According to James Edward III of The Athletic, the Pistons have released Gelo along with Anthony Lamb and Louis King.

This is not the end of the road for the Chino Hills product, however. Since Ball signed an Exhibit 10 deal and was waived after training camp, he could join the Grand Rapids Drive—the Pistons' G-League affiliate—and receive a bonus.
During his time with the Pistons in training camp, Ball received some praise from head coach Dwane Casey, who called Gelo an “excellent player.”

on LiAngelo Ball: "Excellent player, great kid."

Last season, LiAngelo Ball had a stint with the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder's G League affiliate. He played just one game before the cancellation of the season due to the pandemic.
LaVar Ball's dream of having his sons in the NBA was fulfilled when LaMelo was selected third overall in the 2020 NBA Draft and when LiAngelo was signed by the Pistons. But this recent decision byDetroit to waive the middle Ball brother has cut this dream short.
LiAngelo averaged 33.8 points per game as a senior in Chino Hills. A three-star recruit, he committed to UCLA in 2017 before leaving to play in the Lithuanian Basketball League. In the 2017-18 season, he averaged 12.6 points per game on 41.5 percent from 3-point range.
It would be interesting to see how the Ball family will navigate their way through this.
