The Detroit Pistons are becoming one of the most active teams in the trade market. After sending guard Reggie Bullock to the Los Angeles Lakers, they are now finalizing a deal to acquire Thon Maker from the Milwaukee Bucks.

Pistons coach Dwyane Casey says he is intrigued by Maker's potential, especially after seeing the 21-year old perform in last season's playoffs.

The 7'1 Australian center has reportedly been upset over his role with the Bucks, which eventually led to him requesting a trade. Both sides denied the speculation at first, but this move indicates that they were ready to part ways.

Maker has managed to put up only 4.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.5 blocks this season.

In exchange for Maker, the Pistons will be sending 22-year old Stanley Johnson to the Bucks.

Similar to Maker, Johnson has been under utilized in Detroit. He's averaging 7.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game this year.

The deal is a straight swap of players between Detroit and Milwaukee. Both Johnson and Maker have been playing limited minutes and are looking to get a fresh start with their new ball clubs.

It will be interesting to see how both teams will be utilizing the players they acquired. Johnson and Maker clearly has the potential to be great players, and maybe a change of scenery is what they need.

Johnson will be part of a Bucks team that is expected to make a deep run in the postseason while Maker is set to try his luck with the rebuilding Pistons.
