Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey says sharpshooter Luke Kennard has been playing point guard for the team during the in-market bubble.

Pistons star Derrick Rose isn't at the voluntary in-market bubble, so Casey is giving the ball-handling duties to Kennard while Bruce Brown can move back to his natural position of shooting guard, per Rod Beard of the Detroit News.

Whenever the 2020-21 season starts, Rose will be the primary ball-handler for the Pistons. The former MVP averaged 18.1 points and 5.6 assists per game for Detroit in 2019-20 before games were suspended in March due to COVID-19.

However, it's always good to have multiple ball-handlers on the team, so Dwane Casey sees the in-market bubble as a good opportunity to work on Luke Kennard's point guard skills.

The Pistons were terrible in 2019-20. They won only 20 games and finished with the third-worst record in the Eastern Conference standings. All-Star power forward Blake Griffin was only able to play in 18 games due to another knee surgery. Detroit also traded Andre Drummond to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In the 2020 draft, the Pistons will have the seventh overall pick. It's a good opportunity for Detroit to snag a young player to pair next to Kennard, Sekou Doumbouya and Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, the three players the Pistons are hoping to build the team around for the long-haul since Rose and Griffin are at the tail end of their careers.
